The Fresno Sheriff Memorial will be a place of reverence to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while in service to the citizens of Fresno County. The Memorial will be a gathering place for survivors. Families, friends, and community members will come together to pay their respects and to seek solace and comfort. It is our hope that this Memorial will further serve to impress upon all those who visit and recognize the grandeur of the sacrifice by those whose names are embossed on the wall.
First Concept Design of Fresno Sheriff Memorial
The word Memorial derives from the latin ‘memos,’ which means ‘mindful.’ The Fresno Sheriff Memorial will be rich in symbolism, both subtle and apparent. This symbolism will serve to emphasize the purpose. It is the hope of this Memorial that those who gather here, not only come to pay tribute to the fallen, but also leave charged and vested with the courage to honor the fallen through their own actions.
